BRUNSWICK, Maine – The Trinity College Football team defeated host Bowdoin College, 45-3, in a New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC) tilt at Whittier Field Saturday afternoon. The Bantams rise to 6-1 overall, while the Polar Bears slide to 1-6 on the year.
What Happened:
- After forcing a three-and-out on the Polar Bears opening drive, the Bantams orchestrated a six-play, 51-yard drive, capped by a 19-yard touchdown run from Tyler DiNapoli to hand Trinity the early 7-0 lead.
- Bowdoin put their first points on the board with a 27-yard field goal from Caden Perry capping a 10-play, 65-yard drive that stalled at the Trinity 10-yard line.
- To open the second quarter, the Polar Bears were forced to punt, and on the ensuing attempt, Shane Mosia shot off the line untouched and blocked the kick, which landed in the arms of Bryce Ferrell. Ferrell scampered into the endzone from five yards out to put Trinity ahead 14-3.
- With 12 minutes remaining in the first half, Tate Hoffmeister ripped off a 56 yards on back-to-back carries, including a career-long 41 yard tote, to set up the Bantams in the Bowdoin redzone. Three plays later, Nolan O'Brien found paydirt from a yard out to push the Trinity lead to 21-3.
- In the final three minutes of the second quarter, Trinity executed a nine-play, 64-yard drive, punctuated by a seven-yard touchdown connection from Jaxon Carroll to Nick Behrens.
- On the opening play of the second half, Josh Woodford took a carry up the middle for a career-long 75-yard touchdown run, extending the Bantams lead to 35-3.
- A 26-yard field goal from Max Wallace gave Trinity a 38-3 lead with 6:50 remaining in the third quarter.
- The Bantams delivered their final score as Cam Holland spotted Shane Hanlon for a 26-yard touchdown strike to seal the 45-3 victory.

- Lincoln Moore tallied a team-high four tackles, while John Fiore III and Jose Ruiz each registered a sack on the day.
