No. 14 Hamilton Tops Trinity, 3–0, in NESCAC Field Hockey Matchup

HARTFORD, Conn. — The Trinity College field hockey team was shut out, 3–0, by the No. 14-ranked Hamilton College Continentals in New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC) action Saturday morning on Goodfriend Field. The Bantams drop to 3–11 overall and 1–8 in conference play, while the Continentals improve to 11–4 (6–4 NESCAC).

What Happened

  • Trinity generated several strong chances in the second quarter, earning three penalty corners that resulted in shots from Brooke DiBiase and Lucy Werner, both of which were blocked by Hamilton defenders. Alison Gerber put another shot on target, but her attempt was turned away by Continental goalkeeper Kelly Janssen.

  • The Bantams continued to press in the third quarter with three consecutive attempts from Claire Griffith, Lindsay Rogers, and Harper Siemens, though all were denied by Janssen in the cage.

  • Hamilton's scoring opened late in the second quarter when Lilly Truchon found the back of the net. The Continentals extended their lead in the fourth with goals from Becky Felker in the sixth minute and Sammy Higgins in the final three minutes, sealing the 3–0 win.
