NEW YORK, N.Y. – The top-ranked Trinity College Men's Basketball team downed host Yeshiva University, 76-52, in a non-conference clash at the Max Stern Athletic Center Thursday night. The Bantams improve to 3-0 on the season, while Yeshiva opens with a 0-1 mark.
What Happened:
- The Bantams grabbed an early 8-3 lead over the Maccabees, but Yeshiva rallied with a 12-6 run over the next five minutes to take a 15-14 lead midway through the first half.
- Leading 21-20 with 7:13 on the clock, the Bantams created some separation with a 13-3 run, capped by a three-pointer from Henry Vetter to hand Trinity the 34-23 advantage. The Bantams took a 41-29 lead into halftime.
- Trinity began to pull away in the second half as the Bantams opened the period on a 9-0 run, fueled by seven points from Vetter.
- Jared Berry poured in eight points over the next six minutes to help Trinity escort their lead to 64-35 with 8:27 to play.
- Jarrel Okorougo, Kobe Closeil, Jadon Holmes and Marley Stewart chipped in buckets down the stretch to seal the 76-52 victory.
Inside the Numbers:
- The Bantams shot 43.8% (32-of-73) from the floor, including 5-of-20 (25%) from beyond the arc, and 7-of-14 (50%) from the foul line.
- The Maccabees connected on 31.3% (15-of-48) from the field, 9-of-22 (40.9%) from three-point range and 13-of-19 (68.4%) from the foul line.
- The Bantams held the edge in rebounding, 43-38.

- Vetter led all scorers with a season-high 20 points, shooting 8-of-11 from the field, with six rebounds, four steals and two assists.
- Okorougo logged his first double-double of the season with 16 points and a game-high 11 rebounds, while Berry netted 16 points off the bench.
- David Ayles tallied five points, four rebounds and four assists in the win.
- Zevi Samet paced Yeshiva with a team-high 14 points, three rebounds and three steals.
- Yair Dovrat added eight points, while Dothan Bardichev and Asher Falk had seven points apiece.

- The Bantams will be back in action when they travel to Union College to face Russell Sage College in the opening round of the Sig Makofski Tournament on Saturday, November 29 at 2:00 p.m.
