2025-26 Women's Basketball Season Preview

HARTFORD, Conn. – The Trinity College Women's Basketball team will look to build upon a New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC) Championship Semifinal appearance as the Bantams seek to return to their first NESCAC Championship game since 2022-23. The Bantams will kick off the 2025-26 season when they welcome The College of New Jersey to Ray Oosting Gymnasium on Friday, November 14 at 5:00 p.m.
 
Bantam Bytes:
  • Head Coach Maria Williamson enters her second season after leading the Bantams to a 19-9 record with a 6-4 mark in the NESCAC, earning the third-seed in the Championship Tournament.
  • Trinity defeated sixth-seeded Tufts University in double overtime, 72-64, before falling to Colby College, 90-69, in the Semifinals.
  • The Bantams earned an at-large bid to the 2025 NCAA Division III Women's Basketball Championship field, where Trinity claimed a thrilling comeback victory over UMass-Dartmouth in the First Round, and then fell to top-ranked NYU in the Second Round.
  • The Bantams were the top scoring offense in the league, generating 69.2 points per game, shooting 39.8% from the field, including a league-high 33.1% from three-point range.
  • Trinity paced the conference in three-point field goals made (194) and three-point field goals per game (6.4).
  • Defensively, the Bantams ranked first in rebounding, averaging 41.8 boards per game, while limiting opponents to 63.9 points per game.
  • Opponent shot 38.3% from the field against Trinity, including 28.2% from three-point range.
  • The Bantams ranked second in assists (382), and third in blocks (112) and assist-turnover ratio (.89).
  • Trinity will be without Olivia Vick, a 2025 WBCA All-American Honorable Mention and a 2025 NESCAC First Team All-Conference selection.
  • Avery Marzo had a breakout sophomore campaign, registering career-high in points (235), scoring (8.4), rebounds (90), assists (38), steals (20) and blocks (18), while shooting 42.2% from the floor and 32.5% from beyond the arc.
  • Madi Forman ranked fifth in the conference in rebounding (8.8) and blocks (33), along with a 7.3 scoring average shooting 41.6% from the floor.
  • Melissa Whitmore averaged 7.8 points and 5.1 rebounds in 28 games started, shooting 35.1% from the field and 32.6% from three-point.
  • Samantha Slofkiss appeared in 28 games off the bench, chipping in 5.8 points and 5.4 rebounds per game, while shooting a team-high 49.6% from the floor.
  • The Bantams will look to returners Lucy Dorion, Kiki Fossbender, Lucy Palmer and Maya Carnes to fill the void left by Vick.
  • Dorion posted 130 points and 59 rebounds in 27 games, Fossbender added 117 points shooting 38.9% from three-point, and Palmer dished out 50 assists in 24 games.
  • Trinity will bring depth back to their frontcourt with Marlo Simms, Amaya Pendleton and Hannah Boone.
