HENNIKER, N.H. – The Trinity College Men's Ice Hockey team shut out host New England College, 5-0, in a non-conference clash at Lee Clement Arena Friday night. The Bantams rise to 4-4 on the year, while the Pilgrims dip to 3-5 overall.
What Happened:
- Less than six minutes into the contest, the Bantams cracked the scoreboard on the power play as Spencer Korona won the faceoff in the Pilgrims zone, which was collected by Ryan Panico, who found James Barbour for the finish to stake Trinity to the 1-0 lead.
- With 9:34 remaining in the first period, the Bantams tacked onto their lead as Ty Broad stuffed home the rebound on a saved shot by Jakob Karpa, extending the Trinity advantage to 2-0.
- Trinity potted a trio of third-period insurance goals as Barbour connected with Broad for his second goal of the game with 15 minutes to play, followed by a tally from Joseph Harney nine minutes later.
- With 4:03 remaining in the game, Broad delivered an unassisted goal to register his first career hat trick as the Bantams claimed the 5-0 victory.
