#2 Bantams Tame #9 Lions, 9-0

HARTFORD, Conn. – The second-ranked Trinity College Women's Squash team dominated visiting ninth-ranked Columbia University, sweeping the Lions 9-0 on Saturday afternoon at the Kellner Squash Center.

Bantams' No. 1 player, Jana Safy, triumphed in a thrilling five-game battle against Columbia's Simmi Chan, winning 11-9, 8-11, 11-4, 2-11, 11-8. In the match that clinched the 9-0 victory for Trinity, Fabiola Cabello overcame Eugenia Liin another five-game nail-biter. After dropping the second and third games to fall behind 1-2, Cabello bounced back to win the final two games 11-4 and 11-5, sealing her victory with a 11-8, 7-11, 9-11, 11-4, 11-5 scoreline.

The rest of the Bantams also dominated, with Noa RomeroKara LincouHannah Chukwu, Lujan Palacios, Janna El AshmawyVarvara Esina, and Varvara Kliueva all winning in straight sets.
