WATERVILLE, Maine – The tenth-ranked Trinity College Men's Basketball team defeated host Colby College, 88-78, in a New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC) contest at the Margaret M. Crook Center Friday night. The Bantams improve to 20-3 overall and 7-2 in the NESCAC, while the Mules are 13-10 and 4-5 on the season. For the 13th time in program history, the Bantams reached the 20-win plateau.

The Bantams had five scorers register double-digit points in the win, led by junior
Henry Vetter with a game-high 20 points, shooting 7-of-10 from the field and 3-of-5 from three-point, with seven rebounds and two assists. Sophomore
Jared Berry poured in 17 points off the bench, while junior
Drew Lazarre tallied 15 points, four rebounds, two steals and a block. Junior
Jarrel Okorougo grabbed a game-high nine rebounds with 12 points, and classmate
Trevor McDonald added 10 points and five rebounds in the win.

Max Poulton paced the Mules with a team-high 19 points and a game-four assists. Dan Civello scored 13 points with a team-high eight rebounds off the bench, while Marcos Montiel chipped in 13 points, four rebounds and two assists. Jack Lawson notched 11 points with a game-high six assists and six rebounds, while Sam Hinman had 11 points and three steals.

The Bantams won the rebounding battle, 39-30, and both teams were even for points in the paint, 26-26. The Trinity bench outscored the Colby reserves, 32-19. The Bantams shot 32-of-67 (47.8%) from the field, 11-of-24 (45.8%) from three-point, and 13-of-20 (65%) from the foul line. Colby connected on 28-of-63 (44.4%) from the floor, 14-of-31 (45.2%) from beyond the arc, and 8-of-9 (88.9%) from the free throw stripe.

The Bantams will wrap up their regular season campaign with a NESCAC road trip to Bowdoin College (11-12, 1-8 NESCAC) for a 3:00 p.m. tip-off Saturday afternoon.
