NEW HAVEN, Conn. – The second-ranked Trinity College Women's Squash team traveled to #8 Yale University on Wednesday afternoon, where they secured a dominant 7-2 victory over the Bulldogs.
In the #3 spot, Trinity's Kara Lincou battled through a five-game thriller, completing a reverse sweep against Christy Lau. Bantams senior Fabiola Cabello, playing at #7, defeated Yale's Whitney Taylor in a hard-fought match. After trading games back and forth, Cabello sealed the win with an 11-1 victory in the final game (6-11, 11-9, 6-11, 11-8, 1-11).
At #2, Noa Romero cruised past Yale's Spring Ma with a 3-0 sweep (4-11, 1-11, 9-11). First-year Varvara Kliueva followed suit, defeating Layla Johnson 3-0 (7-11, 10-12, 2-11). In the #6 spot, Janna Ashmawy took down Meha Shah 3-1, while Varvara Esina also triumphed over Rashi Goverdhanam in the #8 spot.
