HARTFORD, Conn. – The second-seeded Trinity College Men's Ice Hockey team was upset by visiting seventh-seeded Middlebury College, 1-0, in the quarterfinals of the New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC) Men's Ice Hockey Championship Tournament at the Koeppel Community Sports Center Saturday afternoon.

Following a scoreless first period, the Panthers cracked the scoreboard just over five minutes into the second period as senior Ryan Pineault fired a shot from the blue line that was blocked and the loose puck bounded to the stick of senior Jin Lee, who tucked a shot past Trinity junior goalie
Devon Bobak to give Middlebury the decisive 1-0 lead.

The Bantams outshot the Panthers, 19-12, while Middlebury controlled the face-off circle, 37-24. Bobak registered 11 saves for Trinity, while Andrew Heinze posted a game-high 19 saves for the Panthers.

The Bantams will now wait to find out if they will receive an at-large bid to the NCAA Division III Men's Ice Hockey Championship Tournament.
