HARTFORD, Conn. – The Trinity College Women's Lacrosse team opened their 2025 season with an emphatic 15-4 victory over Bowdoin College in a New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC) clash.
Sophomore Kelsey Restivo led the Bantams' offensive charge, scoring a game-high five goals, adding one assist, three caused turnovers, and one ground ball. Junior Alex Lesko, sophomore Sarah Marvin, and first-year Ivy Armentrout each netted two goals for Trinity. Additionally, junior Kaeley Zito, senior Brooke Kurts, first-year Heather Stucker, and senior Alexa Macaulay contributed to the scoring in the dominant win.
Bowdoin's offense was led by four different players, with Miya Imaeda, Grace Harvey, Ellie Fabbro, and Molly Read each recording a goal.
The Bantams wasted no time asserting themselves, jumping to an early lead with back-to-back unassisted goals from Restivo and Armentrout. Restivo then added her second of the quarter at 2:55, with an assist from Armentrout, giving Trinity a 3-1 lead as the first quarter ended.
Bowdoin's Fabbro opened the second quarter with the Polar Bears' only goal of the period, scoring less than a minute into play. However, the Bantams responded with a 5-0 run, including a player-up goal from Lesko at 10:05. Restivo scored twice more, and Lesko added another goal, pushing Trinity to an 8-2 lead heading into halftime.
The third quarter saw five different Bantams find the back of the net. Macaulay opened the scoring with an even-strength goal, assisted by Marvin, who then followed up with a goal of her own on the next possession. Over the final 10 minutes of the quarter, Restivo, Armentrout, and Kurts all added to Trinity's lead. Bowdoin's Imaeda broke through with 1:41 remaining in the period, scoring the Polar Bears' third goal.
Marvin recorded her second and final goal at 9:53 in the fourth quarter, followed by a goal from Stucker. Bowdoin's Harvey tallied the final goal of the game with under two minutes remaining, but it was clear that the Bantams had sealed the 15-4 victory.
Trinity outshot Bowdoin, 30-7, while the Polar Bears held a slight 12-11 edge in draw controls. Bantams sophomore goalie Ali Macdougall made two saves in the win, while Bowdoin's Brett stopped four shots, splitting time in goal with Hannah Rubin, who made eight saves.
The Bantams will return to action on Wednesday, March 5th, when they travel to Springfield College for a non-conference matchup at 6:30 PM.
