AUBURNDALE, Fla. – The Trinity College Baseball team kicked off the 2025 RussMatt Invitational with a 14-8 victory over Springfield College, followed by a 16-4 win in the nightcap of a doubleheader with Worcester State University. The Bantams improve to 3-6 on the season with the wins.

Trinty 14, Springfield College 8
The Pride grabbed a 1-0 lead behind a first inning home run from Lepere. The Bantams took the lead in the top of the third as
Aidan Stern and
Luis Saldivia scored on an error, but Springfield regain control four runs in the bottom of the frame to hold a 5-2 lead.

Trailing 5-3 in the seventh, the Bantams seized the lead as
Tyler Bernstein and
William Sawyer each delivered two-run doubles to put Trinity ahead 7-5. Stern laced a double to bring home a pair of runs, and then scored on an RBI triple from
Dylan Schnitzer to extend the advantage to 11-5. The Bantams added an exclamation point with a three-run home run from
Cole Mascolo en route to the 14-8 win.

Stern and
Timothy Domizio tallied three hits each, while Mascolo and Sawyer drove in three runs apiece. Stern, Schnitzer and Bernstein each plated three runs, and Saldivia scored three times.
Tyler Colditz picked up the victory in relief, while
Brendan Grady punched out three batters in two innings of relief.

Worcester State 6, Trinity 0
The Lancers took a 2-0 lead in the first with Doyle scoring on an error, followed by a solo home run from T. Smith. Worcester State added a two-run single from R. Catlin in the third, and a two-run single from A. Iamarone in the sixth to secure the 6-0 win.

Stern, Schnitzer, Sawyer and Mascolo knocked the lone hits for Trinity in the contest.
Joseph Capano was saddled with the loss, surrendering four runs on hits withs with six strikeouts.

Trinity 16, Worcester State 4
The Bantams jumped on Worcester State early as Domizio knocked an RBI single, and then scored on a passed ball. Schnitzer came home on another passed ball, and then a double-steal from
Andrew Gabriel and
Ryder Aubin helped Trinity to the 4-0 advantage. Domizio ripped an RBI double to left field in the second inning to hand the Bantams a 5-0 lead.

C. Mondesir got the Lancers on the board with a grand slam in the top of the fourth to trim the gap to 5-4. Leading 6-4 in the sixth, Trinity pulled away as Schnitzer launched his XX career grand slam over the left field fence, trailed by a two-run triple from Aubin, who scored on a wild pitch. Sawyer touched home following another wild pitch, and then Domizio and Schnitzer each added RBI singles to send Trinity to the 16-4 win.

Tyler Fahey earned the win, giving up three runs on one hit with a career-high six strikeouts.
Brendan Grady picked up with first save of the season with a scoreless inning of relief.

The Bantams will be back on the diamond with a game against University of Wisconsin-River Falls on Tuesday at 10:00 a.m. in Winter Haven, Florida.
