WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. – The Trinity College Softball team dropped a pair of New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC) games to host Williams College at Cole Field Monday afternoon. The Bantams lost the opening game, 2-0, and then fell in the nightcap, 8-0. Trinity moves to 7-14 on the season and 2-8 in conference play, while the Ephs sit at 17-7, 6-2 in the NESCAC.

Game 1: Williams 2, Trinity 0
The opening game proved to be a pitcher's duel between Trinity's
Zofia Sargent and Williams' Sadie Leonard. After a scoreless first inning, the lone damage from the Ephs came as Dani Jackman hit a two-run home run in the second to give Williams the 2-0 lead. The Bantams offense was limited to one hit over the next three innings.

Trinity looked to mount a comeback in the sixth as the Bantams loaded the bases with three consecutive two-out walks, but Trinity came up empty, falling 2-0. Sargent (4-8) limited Williams to six hits with a strikeout in six innings of work.

Game 2: Williams 8, Trinity 0
After three scoreless innings kicked off the nightcap, the Ephs erupted for six runs in the fourth as Sydney Fleming delivered a solo home run, followed by a two-run RBI single from Justine Dunaway and Sidney Miller a two-run double from Vicky Trujillo Balderas to grab the 6-0 lead for Williams.

The Ephs added a pair of insurance runs in the fifth on RBI singles from Emily Borrazzo and Albert to extend the gap to 8-0. Williams' pitching duo of Elyse Chan and Katie Blanch logged a combined one-hitter with three strikeouts. Trinity starter
Annie Konieczka (3-5) surrendered six runs on seven hits.

The Bantams will be back on the diamond when they host Babson College in a non-conference doubleheader on Wednesday at Trinity Softball Field. First pitch is scheduled for 2:00 p.m.
