Bantams Conclude Regular Season Against No.19 Mammoths

HARTFORD, Conn. – The Trinity College Men's Lacrosse team dropped a hard-fought 16-12 decision to visiting No.19 Amherst College on Wednesday afternoon at Jessee/Miller Field. With the loss, the Bantams conclude their season at 8-7 overall and 3-7 in NESCAC play. The Mammoths, meanwhile, improve to 10-4 overall and 7-3 in the conference as they head into postseason play.

Trinity was led offensively by Bo Page, who recorded a hat trick, added an assist, and collected a ground ball. Miles HarveyJake Connors, and Jay Ottomanelli each contributed two goals, while Jon Krikorian tallied a goal and a team-high three assists.

In net, Jordan Opdahl posted 10 saves for the Bantams, finishing with a .365 save percentage. Defensively, Trinity forced several turnovers, with contributions from Carter BarfordWilliam LavalleeHugh CurranDuncan Rider, and Ethan Lung.

The Bantams trailed 11-4 at halftime, after Amherst scored six goals in the first quarter and five more in the second. Trinity notched three goals in the second quarter, including two from Connors—one of which came during a man-up opportunity.

Trinity showed fight in the third quarter, outscoring Amherst 3-2. Ottomanelli opened the half with a goal, followed by tallies from Page and Harvey to narrow the deficit to 12-7 with just over six minutes left in the frame.

Despite three more goals in the fourth quarter, the Bantams couldn't close the gap, ultimately falling 16-12.

Amherst outshot Trinity 41-36 and held a 17-13 advantage on faceoffs, while also collecting 23 ground balls to Trinity's 20.
