Men's Soccer Blanks Framingham State in Season Opener

FRAMINGHAM, Mass. -  The Trinity College Men's Soccer team delivered a 4-0 victory over host Framingham State in their 2025 season opener at Maple Street Field Wednesday night. With the win, the Bantams open the season at 1-0, while the Rams dip to 0-1 overall.
 
What Happened:
  • After more than 30 minutes of scoreless action opened the contest, the Bantams cracked the scoreboard as junior Jack Murphy converted off a feed from classmate Ian Spiro to stake Trinity to a 1-0 lead.
  • With less than two minutes to play in the first half, sophomore Dieder Wagner pushed the lead to 2-0, firing home a pass from Dillon Reilly.
  • Less than four minutes into the second half, the Bantams continued their offensive attack as Murphy ripped a penalty shot past Rams keeper Colin Holt to make it a 3-0 game.
  • Trinity sealed the 4-0 victory in the 74th minute as senior Kieran McCabe potted his first tally of the year.
 
Inside the Numbers:
  • The Bantams dominated the shot column, outshooting the Rams, 26-7, during the contest.
  • Trinity generated 17 corner kick opportunities to just four for Framingham State.
  • Holt recorded a game-high 11 saves, while senior Nate Dyott made four saves for Trinity in the win.
 
Up Next:
  • The Bantams will be back in action when they host Bates College for their New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC) opener at Trinity Soccer Field on Saturday, September 6 at 2:00 p.m.
  • All-time, Trinity holds a 9-12 record against Bates and will look to redeem a 2-0 loss last season.
