MORRISVILLE, N.Y. – The Trinity College Women's Ice Hockey team dropped a 2-0 decision to No. 9-ranked Adrian College on Friday afternoon in its opening game of the Morrisville New Year's Tournament, hosted by SUNY Morrisville. The Bantams fall to 2-6-0 on the season, while the Bulldogs improve to 11-3-0.

The opening period featured 20 scoreless minutes as both teams generated double-digit shots on goal. Trinity fired 10 shots at Bulldogs netminder Kiera Stack, while Madeline Carter turned aside 13 shots for the Bantams. Mikayla Murray accounted for two of Trinity's shots on goal, including one that was blocked.

Following a stoppage in play during an Adrian power play, the Bulldogs capitalized off a offensive-zone faceoff win. Just seconds after the puck drop, Adrian's Hannah Markovich found the back of the net with the extra skater, assisted by Hunter Reardon and Courtney Ben, to give the Bulldogs a 1-0 lead.

Trinity pressed offensively over the final 13 minutes of the second period, putting six shots on goal in an effort to even the score, but the Bulldogs' defense held firm.

The third period remained evenly paced, with Adrian recording eight shots and Trinity adding six. With under two minutes remaining, the Bantams called a timeout and pulled the goalie for an extra skater. However, Adrian sealed the win with an empty-net goal in the final minute to secure the 2-0 victory.
