LEWISTON, Maine – The Trinity College Women's Soccer team fell to host Bates College, 2-0, in a New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC) battle at the Russell Street Track and Field Saturday afternoon. The Bantams hold a 3-4-1, 1-4-1 mark in conference, while the Bobcats sit at 4-3-1 and 2-3 in the NESCAC.
What Happened:
- In the 13th minute of play, Bates senior Rachael Suh intercepted an attempted Bantams clear and chipped a ball towards the front of the net, where the ball bounced between two Trinity defenders and a charging Eleanor Martin dove for a header and collided with Trinity keeper Zoe Tamborello as the ball rolled into the net.
- With less than 38 minutes remaining, the Bobcats potted an insurance tally as Clara Oldenburg chipped the ball over the head of a converging defender in the box, and Whitney Ladich collected the loose ball and curled a shot past the reach of Tamborello to make it 2-0.
