MEDFORD, Mass. – The second-ranked Trinity College Men's Basketball team fell to ninth-ranked Tufts University, 68-62, in a New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC) clash at Cousens Gymnasium Saturday afternoon. The Bantams move to 18-2 overall and 5-2 in conference, while the Jumbos sit at 17-3 and 6-1 in the NESCAC.
What Happened:
- The Bantams held the Jumbos scoreless over the opening seven minutes, building an 11-0 lead behind four points from Tristan Davis. Trinity expanded the lead to 25-10 at the 8:03 mark as Samuel Norris netted five straight points, along with four-point efforts from Jared Berry and Jarrel Okorougo.
- Okorougo tallied six straight points, followed by five points from Drew Lazarre to hand the Bantams a 40-27 lead at the half.
- Henry Vetter jarred back-to-back three-pointers to escort the Bantams lead to 48-34 with 15:46 to play. The Jumbos began their comeback with an 14-4 run, featuring five points from Ricardo Nieves, to close the gap to 52-48 with 8:28 on the clock.
- Five points from Dylan Reilly and four points from Jon Medley put Tufts within a possession, 58-57 at the 4:25 mark. After a pair of free throws from Zion Watt knotted the game at 60-60 with 2:19 to play, Tufts outscored Trinity, 8-2, down the stretch to pull out the 68-62 win.

- Reilly posted 14 points and five rebounds, and Medley had 14 points and four rebounds in the win.
