HARTFORD, Conn. – The Trinity College Baseball team will look to make a return appearance to New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC) Championship weekend after advancing to the semifinals for the first time since 2016 last season. The Bantams will open the season when they welcome the University of Hartford to Murren Family Field at DiBenedetto Stadium for a doubleheader on Saturday, February 28 at Noon.
Bantam Bytes:
- Head Coach Bryan Adamski enters his 13th season at the helm, holding a career record of 201-175 with the Blue & Gold.
- The Bantams logged a 20-15 record last season, defeating Amherst College in a two-game series to earn their first berth in the Championship weekend in nine seasons.
- Offensively, Trinity led the league in doubles (78), triples (20) and slugging percentage (.464).
- The Bantams ranked second in home runs (44), extra-base hits (126) and stolen bases (94), while sitting fourth in runs (273), runs batted in (235) and total bases (536).
- Trinity posted a .289 batting average with 334 hits and a .396 on-base percentage.
- On the hill, the Bantams registered a 6.09 earned run average with 220 strikeouts and opponents posting a .261 batting average.
- Senior Tyler Bernstein earned ABCA/Rawling Division III All-Region Second Team and NESCAC All-Conference First Team honors after leading the league in runs scored (50), and ranking second in slugging percentage (.704) and OPS (1.204), third in doubles (14) and walks (31), fifth in stolen bases (20), sixth in home runs (7), and seventh in on-base percentage (.500).
- Senior Dylan Schnitzer earned back-to-back ABCA/Rawlings All-Region selections, along with NESCAC First Team honors, after ranking in the Top 10 in batting average (.369), on-base percentage (.494), OPS (1.060), runs (35), hits (45) and runs batted in (36).
- Aidan Stern claimed NESCAC All-Conference Second Team recognition after ranking second in stolen bases (26) and eighth in runs scored (36) with a .319 batting average, a .420 slugging percentage, a .464 on-base percentage, 38 hits, nine doubles, 17 runs batted in and 50 total bases.
- Andrew Park knocked the ninth-most doubles in the league (10) while delivering a .906 OPS, a .321 batting average, 34 hits, 10 doubles, four home runs, 27 runs batted in, 56 total bases and seven stolen bases.
- Timothy Domizio posted a .919 OPS with 22 hits, nine doubles, four triples, two home runs, 16 runs batted in and 51 total bases, while Aidan Stevenson and Williams Sawyer each drove in 24 runs.
- Joseph Capano will look to anchor the Bantams rotation after earning NESCAC All-Conference Second Team honors last season.
- Capano led the conference in innings pitched (66.0) and wins (5), while ranking second in strikeouts (53) and walks allowed (12) with a 4.36 earned run average.
- In the bullpen, Andruw Perez posted a 2.35 ERA in 10 appearances, Tyler Colditz made 12 appearances with a 3.00 ERA, and Brendan Grady added 41 strikeouts in 18 appearances as starter and in relief.
