HARTFORD, Conn. – Trinity College Athletics is excited to announce the hiring of Taylor Dyer as the new Head Field Hockey Coach, effective Wednesday. Dyer becomes the eighth Head Coach in program history.
"Trinity is excited to welcome Taylor Dyer as the next head coach of Bantams Field Hockey," said Trinity College Director of Athletics
Gavin Viano. "Throughout our national search process, it became clear that Taylor possesses the ideal combination of passion, competitive excellence, and tactical knowledge to lead our program with confidence, empathy, and accountability. Coach Dyer is aligned with our vision of building upon the past success of the College's storied field hockey program and in positioning our current and future Bantams to realize their championship aspirations."
Dyer joins the Bantams after serving as Head Coach at Gettysburg College for the last four seasons. At Gettysburg, Dyer amassed a 29-40 record with her teams nearly doubling their win totals in each of her first three seasons. Last season, the Bullets posted a 9-9 record with a 4-6 mark in the Centennial Conference. During her four-year run at Gettysburg, Dyer had six All-Centennial Conference selections, one National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA) All-Region honoree, and 55 Academic All-Conference selections.
"I would like to thank
Gavin Viano,
Kristen Noone, and the search committee for the opportunity to serve as the next head field hockey coach at Trinity College," said Dyer. "My time on campus, connecting with dedicated student-athletes and passionate community members, reinforced that Trinity truly is a special place. From battling against the Bants as a student-athlete to sharing a sideline with the legendary Anne Parmenter as an assistant coach, I have always admired the tradition of success and excellence within Trinity Field Hockey, and I am honored to be entrusted with leading the team into its next chapter."
Prior to Gettysburg, Dyer spent six seasons at Lehigh University, serving as Assistant Coach for two seasons and Associate Head Coach for four seasons. Dyer helped guide Lehigh to a Patriot League Semifinal appearance in 2021, while mentoring 15 All-Patriot League nominees, including the 2021 Goalkeeper of the Year and 2021 Defensive Player of the Year, along with six NFHCA All-Region selections, six Academic All-Conference nods, 18 Zag/NFHCA Division I National Academic Squad selections, and three Scholars of Distinction. Dyer held the role of Assistant Coach at Tufts University and Dickinson College before her stint at Lehigh.
A two-time All-American at Tufts University, including a 2010 First Team selection, Dyer grabbed three NFHCA All-Region selections, three All-NESCAC First Team nominations and the 2010 NESCAC Defensive Player of the Year award.
