No. 17 Trinity Rides Denious Hat Trick to 12-8 Victory at Hamilton

CLINTON, NY – The No. 17 Women's Lacrosse team topped host Hamilton College, 12-8, in a New England Small College Athletic Conference clash on Saturday afternoon at Steuben Field. The Bantams move to 9-4 overall with a 5-3 NESCAC mark, while the Continentals fall to 4-8 overall (2-6 NESCAC).

How It Happened

  • Trinity held a 5-4 edge entering halftime, with scoring spread across the lineup. Caroline Lally netted the first Bantam goal to tie the score at 1-1 in the first quarter, followed by a player-up goal from Lily Acerra to give Trinity a 2-1 lead.
  • The second quarter featured three more Bantam goals, beginning with Kaeley Zito, followed by Kelsey Restivo and Grace Denious, in response to a two-goal run by the Continentals to regain a 5-4 lead.
  • The third opened with a game-tying goal from Hamilton's Grace MacLean to make it 5-5. Following a Continental turnover and quick transition, Trinity's Alex Lesko potted the Bantams' sixth goal off an assist from Restivo.
  • Trinity closed the quarter with three more goals, including another from Zito and free-position finishes by Ivy Armentrout and Grace Denious, taking a 9-7 lead into the fourth.
  • In the final frame, Trinity allowed just one Hamilton goal while adding three of their own to secure the NESCAC win. Charlotte Troy, Kelsey Restivo, and a man-up free-position goal from Denious capped the scoring.
