SCHENECTADY, N.Y. – The third-seeded Trinity College Baseball team fell to second-seeded Randolph Macon, 6-5, in their opening game of the 2026 NCAA Division III Regional Championships at Central Park A Friday afternoon. The Bantams move to 27-14 on the season, while the Yellow Jackets sit at 27-14.
What Happened:
- Trailing 2-0 in the third inning, the Bantams knotted up the scoreboard behind an RBI groundout from Dylan Schnitzer and Aidan Stern scoring on an error. Randolph Macon regained the lead with runs in the third and fourth to take a 4-2 edge.
- Trinity battled back in the top of the fifth as a bases loaded wild pitch allowed Tyler Bernstein to score from third, trimming the gap to 4-3. In the following at-bat, Timothy Domizio laced a single to right field, plating Schnitzer and Stern to give the Bantams a 5-4 advantage.
- The Yellow Jackets responded in the home half of the fifth with a two-run home run from Zach Wernoski to put Randolph-Marcon ahead 6-5. RMC relievers William Wian and Cory Fisher limited the Bantams to three hits over the final three innings to secure the 6-5 win.

- Trinity logged five runs on eight hits with two errors, while the Yellow Jackets tallied six runs on seven hits with an error.
- Bernstein and Andrew Park recorded two hits apiece, while Schnitzer, Domizio, Aidan Stevenson and Cole Mascolo added knocks.
- Bantams starter Andrew Oppenheimer took a no-decision in six innings, allowing four runs, two earned, on six hits with two strikeouts. Fahey (5-2) was saddled with the loss, while Matthew Limongelli delivered two scoreless innings of relief.
