MIDDLETOWN, Conn. — No. 10 nationally ranked Trinity College advanced to the NCAA Quarterfinals with a 14-9 victory over No. 8 Pomona-Pitzer in the NCAA Women's Lacrosse Championship Third Round at Wesleyan University. The Bantams improved to 14-5 on the season, while the Sagehens concluded their year at 16-2.
What Happened
- Pomona-Pitzer scored two early goals to take a 2-0 lead within the first three minutes of play. The Bantams responded with a 7-0 run, beginning with back-to-back player-up goals by Kelsey Restivo and Sarah Marvin to even the score. Charlotte Troy added two free-position goals to give Trinity a 4-2 advantage, while Grace Denious and Kaeley Zito each contributed first-half goals.
- Denious capped the 7-0 run just one minute into the second quarter after a feed from Marvin. The Sagehens snapped the streak when Caili Cross scored her first goal of the game to make it 7-3.
