HARTFORD, Conn. – The Trinity College Women's Soccer team fell to tenth-ranked Williams College, 2-0, in a New England Small College Athletic Conference clash at Trinity Soccer Field. The Bantams move to 1-1 on the season, while the Ephs improve to 3-0 overall.
What Happened:
- The Bantams looked to convert a couple early opportunities but shot from Taylor Troskey was off-target and Sophia Simmons was denied by Williams goalie Chelsea Mohammed with 31:52 remaining in the half.
- In the 18th minute of action, the Ephs broke through as Greta Pew played a throw-in to Elizabeth Stophel, who spotted Emmy Chung at the top of the box. Chung placed a left-footed strike just beyond the reach of Bantams senior keeper Zoe Tamborello, giving Williams the 1-0 lead.
- With 37:45 on the clock, the Ephs added to their advantage as Maya Lloyd worked into the Bantams box and chipped a pass to the front of the net for a right-footed finish from Lucy Carrel, pushing the Williams lead to 2-0.
