HARTFORD, Conn. – The Trinity College Men's Soccer team shut out visiting Worcester Poly, 3-0, in a non-conference contest at the Trinity College Soccer Field Monday night. The Bantams rise to 4-2 on the season, while the Engineers dip to 0-4-3 overall.
 
What Happened:

• The Bantams avoided disaster early as first year goal keeper Jake Davis attempted to clear a ball near midfield, but the ball ricocheted off a WPI attacker and bounded towards the Bantams goal, but spun just outside the right post.
• WPI keeper Brendan Ross denied attempts from Shane Ivey, Jack Murphy, Sam Duncanson and Cameron Linehan in the first half to send the squads into the break knotted in a scoreless tie.
• On a corner kick in the 54^th minute, Sebastian Martinez-Moule curled the ball towards the back post where Jack Murphy knocked a header off the crossbar and Linehan cleaned up the rebound to stake Trinity to the 1-0 lead.
• Less than six minutes later, the Bantams drew a foul in the Engineers box, resulting in a penalty kick for Trinity. On the ensuing attempt, Murphy beat Ross with a shot to the low left side, putting the Bantams ahead 2-0.
• With 14:50 to play, the Bantams applied pressure to the front of the WPI goal, where Murphy put a pair of shots on net. Ross was able to deny Murphy, but Sam Duncanson swooped in a tucked a loose ball to the back of the net, securing the 3-0 victory.
