Women's Soccer Battles to 1-1 Draw with #2 Tufts

HARTFORD, Conn. – The Trinity College Women's Soccer team battled to a 1-1 tie with second-ranked Tufts University at Bello Field Sunday afternoon. The Bantams move to 2-2-1 on the season, while the Jumbos sit at 3-0-2 overall. The Bantams snap a three-game losing streak to Tufts.
 
What Happened:
  • Midway through the first half, Trinity goalkeeper Zoe Tamborello made a barrage of saves including back-to-back stops on a Jumbos corner kick opportunity to preserve a 0-0 scoreboard.
  • After a scoreless first half, the Bantams broke through in the 61st minute of play as Tufts was whistled for a foul in the box, leading to a Bantams penalty kick. On the ensuing attempt, Kyra Charette fired a shot past Tufts keeper Greta Steege, giving Trinity the 1-0 lead.
  • In the 80th minute, the Jumbos deposited the equalizer as Audrey Cromett played a header to Maren Jones for a one-timer to the back of the net, knotting the game at 1-1.
