WATERVILLE, Maine – The Trinity College Women's Soccer team fell to host 21
st-ranked Colby College, 2-0, in a New England Small College Athletic Conference battle at Serdjenian Field Saturday afternoon. The Bantams dip to 2-3-1 overall, and 0-3-1 in the NESCAC, while the Mules sit at 6-1, and 4-1 in conference play.
What Happened:
- In the 12th minute of play, the Mules struck first as Madison Genser controlled a pass at the top of the Bantams box, and swung the ball to Ella Caraluzzi, who dribbled towards the net and tucked a shot inside the far post, handing Colby the 1-0 lead.
- The Bantams looked to respond off the ensuing faceoff as Addie Covey drove towards the net and found Iva Carton in front, but her shot was saved by Colby keeper Sadie Gardner.
- Three minutes into the second half, the Mules added to their advantage as Genser dribbled at the top of the box, and then dropped back a pass to Anne Liebich, who chipped a shot from 30-plus yards out beyond the reach of Bantams keeper Zoe Tamborello, putting Colby ahead 2-0.
