HARTFORD, Conn. – The Trinity College women's volleyball team traded sets to open its New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC) Friday evening clash against Connecticut College. The Camels took the first set, 25-21, before the Bantams responded with a matching 25-21 victory in the second set to even the match.

Despite tightly contested third and fourth sets, the Bantams suffered their third defeat of the season, falling to 6-3 overall and 0-3 in conference play. The Camels improved to 4-6 overall while earning their first NESCAC victory of the season, moving to 1-3 in conference play.

How It Happened

• Set One – Conn College, 25-21: The Camels and Bantams both tallied 13 kills in the opening set. Despite the score, Trinity recorded a .345 hitting percentage to Connecticut College's .333.
• Set Two – Trinity, 25-21: Trinity logged 11 kills to the Camels' 10 in the second set, while overwhelming Connecticut College with a .321 hitting percentage compared to the Camels' .077.
• Set Three – Conn College, 25-22: The Camels took the third set after putting together an 8-1 run to build their largest lead of the frame at 16-11. The Bantams pecked their way back, cutting the deficit to one at 23-22. A Trinity service error followed by an attack error allowed the Camels to secure the third set, 25-22.
• Set Four – Conn College, 25-20: In the final set, Trinity registered 13 kills to the Camels' 11, but despite the advantage, Connecticut College pulled away to build a seven-point lead at 22-15. A late push brought the Bantams within four, but the Camels held off the rally to secure the set, 25-20, and claim the match.

Inside the Numbers

• Ewart led Trinity with 12 kills and 11 digs for her third double-double of the season while also adding two service aces.
• Chloe Gentile registered 10 kills and brick-walled four blocks, while Amy Boller added 11 kills in the match.
• Senior Scarlett Jago recorded a team-high 18 digs.
• Catalina Hendricks dished out a team-high 23 assists, while Maya Pace added 15.
• Trinity finished with 52 kills, 48 assists, 58 digs and 12 total blocks, matching the Camels' total of 12 blocks in the meeting.
