Hartford, Conn. - The fourth Bantams of the Week of 2020-21 fall season has been selected. With the postponement of intercollegiate competition for Trinity's fall teams, we will be honoring our fall senior student-athletes as Bantams of the Week. These athletes have been denied the opportunity to compete in their final traditional season by the COVID-19 outbreak, but are working hard and safely at practice to prepare for a final chance to compete as Bantams this spring. This week's honorees are field hockey senior co-captains Kendall Brown (Rowayton, Conn), and Caroline Munn (Garden City, New York) and senior Ellie Tate (Carlisle, Penn.).
Trinity Athletics created the Bantams of the Week award to spotlight three outstanding student-athletes who have performed at an extremely high level while representing the Bantams in varsity sporting competition.
Brown was named to the All-NESCAC First Team, the Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA) Division III New England West All-Region First Team, and the IWLCA Division III All-American Third Team in 2019. Brown started all 16 games this fall and led the Bantams in goals with 13 (2nd in NESCAC), scoring with 31 points (2nd in NESCAC), shots with 73 (2nd in NESCAC), and game-winning tallies with four (T3rd in NESCAC) to go with her five assists. A graduate of the Westminster School, Brown is majoring in American Studies at Trinity. She is the daughter of Tori and Sandy Brown.
Tate, a three-year starter for the Bantam defense, led the Bantams with two defensive saves while playing in every game in 2019. She has been a NESCAC All-Academic honoree and is also a member of Trinity's field hockey and swimming and diving teams. A graduate of Carlisle High School, Tate is majoring in environmental science at Trinity. She is the daughter Alicia Miller and Jonathan Tate.
Munn started every game on defense for the Bantams in 2019, and has earned Zag Field Hockey/NFHCA Division III National Academic Team the last two seasons. A graduate of Garden City High School, Munn is majoring in American Studies and urban studies at Trinity. She is the daughter of Susan and Doug Munn.
