Club Sports

Club Sports are another tremendous opportunity for students, not only to participate in a sport that they love, but also to understand the details and responsibilities of organizing fellow students working toward a common goal. Club members work with the Recreation Office to hire coaches, plan and schedule practices, schedule contests, and work with an operating budget.

To start a club sport, interested students must read the Club Sports Handbook and follow the steps outlined before setting up a meeting with the Recreation Director. Recreation supports both competitive and non-competitive teams. Each club sport, like all student clubs on campus, must have a constitution and student leaders responsible for the team.

Policies:

The Recreation Director reserves the right to suspend or disqualify individuals or an entire team for unsportsmanlike conduct.  Additionally, violators of the Alcohol & Drug Policy and Good Sportsmanship Policy may face disciplinary action. 

Alcohol & Drug Policy:

Alcohol consumption will NOT be permitted during any Recreation activity, including Club Sports contests and practices, Intramural Sports contests, Outdoor Education adventure or any other recreation program run by the Recreation office.  Violators will be asked to leave the area and offenders may be subject to disciplinary action.  

Hazing Policy:

Please refer to page 75 of the Trinity College Student Handbook about hazing, in all its forms.
