Kissimmee, Fla. - Sophomore 1B Nicole Nardella (Beverly,
Mass.) homered to highlight a five-run fifth inning and
lead the Trinity College Bantams to a 7-6 win over Allegheny
College in Rebel Spring Games softball action this afternoon.
Trinity, which also lost to Fontbonne, 5-4, this afternoon, is
5-5.
The Bantams held a 7-0 lead against Allegheny and held late,
before taking a 4-0 lead against Fontbonne and surrendering five
late runs. Trinity freshman hurler Lindsay Gibbons
(Basking Ridge, N.J.) relieved sophomore Kristen
Anderson (West Haven, Conn.) in both games, as Anderson
pitched nine innings of scoreless ball but ran into trouble in the
fifth inning of each game. Gibbons earned the decision in
both games, while freshman Katherine Poulos (Wilton,
Conn.) replaced Gibbons in both and earned a save against
Allegheny. Junior Patricia Cipicchio (Southmont,
N.C.) and sophomore Katherine Stoltenberg
(Montgomery, N.J.) had doubles for Trinity against
Fontbonne.
