New London, Conn. - Junior back Connor Reilly
(Trumbull, Conn.) scored 5:47 into overtime Saturday to lift the
visiting Trinity College Bantams to a 3-2 victory against the
Connecticut College Camels in a New England Small College Athletic
Conference (NESCAC) men's soccer match on Tempel Green this
afternoon. Trinity improves to 5-4 overall and 2-3 in the
NESCAC, while the Camels drop to 3-4-1 overall and 1-3-1 in the
league.
Trinity junior midfielder Wesley Updike
(Cambridge, Mass.) assisted on the game-winner, while Bantam junior
forward Dan Mayernick (Gladwyne, Pa.) and junior tri-captain back
Joe Buckley
(Shrewsbury, Mass.) both scored second half markers for the
visitors. Connecticut College senior Trevor Prophet (Nashua,
N.H.) netted the first goal of the game on a penalty kick and
assisted on a goal by Oscar Brown (Ridgefield, Conn.). Junior
keeper Grant
Schonberg (Mendham, N.J.) made 10 saves in the victory for the
visitors, and Casey Marini (Hampden, Mass.) had two stops for the
Camels.
The Camels took a 2-1 lead in the 78th minute. Mike Crosby
(Sudbury, Mass.) launched a long throw in from the right side.
Prophet received it at the near post and chipped it to Randy Pearce
(Wyckoff, N.J.) who dished the ball off to Oscar Brown, who found
the back of the net with his third goal of the season. The
Bantams rallied late for the equalizer in the 89th minute of

Marlette (Buffalo, N.Y.) chipped a shot that caromed off the
top of the crossbar and Buckley headed in the rebound to tie the
game at two. Reilly scored the game-winner on a header with
4:13 remaining in the first overtime to secure the victory for the
Bantams.
