Clermont, Fla. – Senior CF Jessica Tait (North
Salem, N.Y.) and junior 2B Katherine Stoltenberg
(Montgomery, N.J.) combined for seven RBI and junior RHP
Kristen Anderson (West Haven, Conn.) tossed a
six-hitter to lead the Trinity College Bantams to a 9-1 win over
the Allegheny College Gators in National Training Center Games
softball action this afternoon. Trinity, which also lost the
University of Chicago Maroons this afternoon, 9-3, moves to
3-3.
Tait went 2-for-3 with a three-run triple to highlight Trinity's
four-run second inning and Stoltenberg was 2-for-4 with four RBI
and knocked home two runs in the sixth to end the game early on a
mercy rule. Bantam junior 1B Nicole Nardella
(Beverly, Mass.) was 2-for-3 with a double, while senior
OF Erika Klotz (Naperville, Ill.) was 2-for-3 with
two runs, and a triple, and Anderson scattered six singles and
struck out six to improve to 2-1. Freshman OF Amelia
Mostovoy (San Francisco, Calif.) had two hits in three
at-bats and smacked her first career home run against
Chicago. Sophomore RHP Katherine Poulos (Wilton,
Conn.) took the loss against the Maroons despite six
strikeouts in six innings.
