Clermont, Fla. – The Trinity College Bantam softball team
lost, 2-1, against the Wellesley College Blue and, 7-3, against the
Buffalo State College Bengals in National Training Center Games
softball action this afternoon. Trinity, which drops to 3-5,
tied the Wellesley game at 1-1 in the top of the seventh inning on
a single by freshman Kerry McCarthy (Andover,
Mass.) and an RBI base hit by sophomore C Kristina
Yu (Andover, Mass.) only to have the Blue leave them on
the field in the bottom of the seventh. Yu had three hits
against Wellesley and was 3-for-4 against Buffalo State, while
senior CF Jessica Tait (North Salem, N.Y.) was
2-for-3 with a triple anf two RBI, and junior 2B Katherine
Stoltenberg (Montgomery, N.J.) was 2-for-4. The
Bantams loaded the bases three times against Buffalo State,
including in the seventh inning.
