Hartford, Conn. – Junior Kristen Anderson (West
Haven, Conn.) allowed one run over seven innings to pick
up her fourth win of the season as the Trinity College Bantams
defeated the Bates College Bobcats 5-1 in New England Small College
Athletic Conference (NESCAC) East Division softball action this
afternoon at Campus Field. Trinity improves to 5-7 while
Bates slips to 2-9 on the year.
Junior OF Jessica Tait (North Salem, N.Y.) went
2-for-5 with a double and first-year Caroline Blanchard
(Norwich, Conn.) collected two RBI to lead the Bantam
offense. Sophomore Leah Maciejewski (Tewksbury,
Mass.) collected three hits, including a double, to lead
the Bobcats. First-year Caroline Gattuso (North
Reading, Mass.) went the distance for the Bobcats,
allowing five runs in the loss and picking up two strikeouts.
The teams will play a doubleheader tomorrow, starting at noon,
to complete the three-game series.
