Hartford, Conn. – Junior Kristen Anderson (West
Haven, Conn.) and sophomore Katherine Poulos
(Wilton, Conn.) each tossed complete games in the circle
to lead the Trinity College Bantams to a 6/4-4/0 doubleheader sweep
against the visiting Bates College Bobcats in New England Small
College Athletic Conference (NESCAC) East Division softball action
this afternoon. Trinity improves to 7-7 overall and 3-0 in
the NESCAC East and earns a sweep of ther weekend's three-game
series, while Bates slips to 2-11 overall and 0-3 in the
division.
Trinity score twice in the bottom of the sixth inning of the
first game on a two-out, two-run single by sophomore C
Kristina Yu (Andover, Mass.) to break a 4-4 tie,
and Yu doubled home two more runs during a four-run sixth frame for
the Bantams to break a scoreless tie in the second game.
