Hartford, Conn. – Trinity senior Kristen Anderson
(West Haven, Conn.) and junior Katherine Poulos
(Wilton, Conn.) pitched 12 innings and allowed just one
unearned run combined to lead the Trinity College Bantams to a 4-1
win and a 9-0 win over the Bowdoin College Polar Bears in a New
England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC) East softball
doubleheader this afternoon on Campus Field. Trinity improves
to 11-6 on the season, while Bowdoin drops to 6-13.
A day after getting one-hit by the Polar Bears, the Trinity

by senior co-captain Katherine Stoltenberg (Montgomery,
N.J.), who picked up a pair of hits and a pair of runs in
each game today.
Trinity got off to a 2-0 start in the first inning of Game 1,
highlighted by an RBI single by first-year Abigail Ostrom
(Carlisle, Mass.). Bowdoin cut the lead to 2-1 in
the top of the fifth inning when sophomore Gen Barlow
(Norwich, Conn.) walked to lead off the inning, and later
came around to score. Trinity responded in the bottom half of
the fifth inning with two unearned runs. Anderson finished
the job, holding the Polar Bears scoreless in the final two
innings, as the Bantams started off the day with a win.
Game 2 was played in just over an hour, as Trinity piled on two
runs in the opening frame and five in the second stanza,
highlighted by a Stoltenberg RBI double and run-scoring hits by
sophomore Caroline Blanchard (Norwich, Conn.),
Ostrom, and first-year Olivia Berry (Quincy,
Mass.).
