Trinity Softball Loses Two On Second Day Of Spring Break Trip

Clermont, Fla. - The Trinity College Bantams suffered a 14-4 loss to the Benedictine University Eagles and a 9-5 defeat against the Buffalo State College Bengals in National Training Center Games softball action this afternoon.  Trinity falls to 0-2.

Benedictine scored five runs in the second and third innings to take a 10-0 lead, and the gam,e ended after five frames due to a mercy rule.  Trinity junior SS Caroline Blanchard (Norwich, Conn.) went 3-for-3 with a run and first-year 2B Miranda Riendeau-Card (Bowdoinham, Maine) belted a two-run homer. 

Trinity rallied back from a 4-0 deficit against Buffalo State with a three-run sixth inning, but the Bengals put the game away with five runs in the bottom of the frame.  Junior OF Amelia Mostovoy (San Francisco, Calif.) went 2-for-3 with a double and two RBI, while rookie starter Katerina Kolbe (Washington, D.C.) fanned six batters in five-plus innings in the circle for the Bantams.
