Hartford, Conn. - Sophomore Aaron Segel (Needham, Mass.)
and freshman William Boyd (Hillsborough, Calif.) teamed up for an
8-1 doubles win and each added a 6-0, 6-0 singles victory to lead
the Trinity College Bantams to a 9-0 triumph over the visiting
United States Coast Guard Academy Bears in men's tennis action this
afternoon at Assaiante Center. Trinity evens its dual-match
record at 1-1 with the win in its home opener, while the Bears drop
to 0-2.
Trinity won doubles play by a combined score of 24-8 and won all
six singles matches in straight sets. Bantam junior
tri-captain Dan Carpenter (Wayzata, Minn.) did not lose a set at
No. 1 singles, and sohomore Carlos Ferreyros (Lima, Peru) won, 6-1,
6-0 at No. 4 singles.
