Saratoga Springs, N.Y. - Junior Ricardo Paes Leme (Lake Villa, Ill.) posted a two-day score of 142 to lead the Trinity College Bantams to fourth place in the Saratoga National Men's Golf Invitational at Saratoga National Golf Club this weekend. Leme carded a 69 on Saturday, good for third place overall, and shot a 73 today to finish fifth. Trinity totaled 297 as a squad to place seventh after Saturday's round and improved four strokes to 293 to jump three teams into fourth with a score of 590. NYU edged Babson by a stroke to take the team title at 577.
Trinity first-year Nicholas Li (Vancouver, British Columbia) was stellar on Sunday, improving seven strokes round one to two with a 70 and tying for 13th overall at 147. Fellow rookie Max Edminster (Takoma Park, Md.) and senior John Malicki (Albany, N.Y.) were consistent with a 75 and 76 each day, respectively, to tie for 20th and 25th. Bantam sophomore Jacob Stoeckler (Barrington, R.I.) shot five strokes better today with a 75 and finished 29th overall at 155 for the weekend. Trinity will close fall season Tuesday in the Ekwanok College Tournament in Manchester, Vt.
