Hartford, Conn. - Men's tennis junior co-captain Chris Bilicic (Chicago, Ill.) has received the 2020 Bob Harron Award as the Trinity College Junior Male Scholar Athlete of the Year. With the cancellation of Trinity's annual Athletic Awards Ceremony, we are celebrating those considered for these awards virtually over the next two weeks. The Bob Harron Outstanding Scholar-Athlete Award was established in 1971 by a friend's memory of Bob Harron, the former Director of College Relations at Trinity. It is presented annually to the junior male who is voted most outstanding in athletics and scholarship.

Bilicic, a three-year starter in singles and doubles, has won 13 singles matches in two-plus seasons against some of the toughest competition in all of NCAA Division III, including a 1-3 record in the fall of 2019. As a sophomore in 2018-19, Bilicic went 7-11 in singles and 8-10 in doubles to tie for the team lead in both singles and doubles wins. This autumn, Bilicic and sophomore doubles partner Dylan Powell went 3-1, including a perfect 2-0 in the Connecticut College Invitational. Bilicic was a two-time ITA All-Academic honoree and a 2019 NESCAC All-Academic selection heading into the spring. The Trinity men's tennis team, coached by Lori Shulman (5th Season), was set to head to the West Coast to begin its spring schedule in California when the season was cancelled. A graduate of the Culver Academies in Indiana, Bilicic has a 3.94 g.p.a. as a political science major at Trinity. He is the son of Laura and George Bilicic.
