Samantha Gallo (Northford, Conn.) dropped a career-high 17 points to lead the Trinity College women's basketball team over rival Connecticut College with a final score of 65-54 in a non-conference matchup this afternoon in Oosting Gymnasium. Trinity improves to 4-2, while Connecticut College drops to 1-6. The Bantams next face Fisher College this Tuesday at home while the Camels next host Westfield State.

Frankie Silva (Auburndale, Mass.) provided several of those big shots, draining three 3-pointers in the second half to prevent a Connecticut College comeback. Silva finished the day with 12 points, shooting 4-for-5 from deep.
As a team, Trinity turned over the ball 20 times to Connecticut College's nine miscues, but the Bantams made up for it with an 37.3% field goal percentage and an impressive 31.3% from beyond the arc. Trinity's defense also shined for its second-straight game, holding Connecticut College to just a 27.3% field goal percentage.
In addition to Gallo leading all scorers and recording a new career-high with 17 points, the junior center also tacked on nine rebounds and a pair of steals. Meanwhile, Stevens posted a double-double, finishing with 12 points and 13 rebounds, as well as 3 assists and a block on the afternoon.
