Gabriella Young (Raleigh, N.C.) made 14 saves in goal to lead the Trinity College Bantams to an 12-5 victory over the visiting Endicott College Gulls in women's lacrosse season opener for both teams this evening on Sheppard Field. Trinity, ranked No. 18 in the nation, avenges an 11-10 loss to Gulls in last year's home opener and will visit the Connecticut College Camels in a non-conference game on Saturday at noon. Endicott hosts Salve Regina on Saturday at 2 p.m.
Trinity outscored Endicott, 8-1, after halftime and closed the game with a 7-0 run as Young had eight of her stops in the second half. Nora Stanton (Bloomfield, Conn.) scored twice in the first half, while Maya Feigenbaum (West Hartford, Conn.) recorded an assist, two ground balls, and three caused turnovers for the visitors.
