NORWICH, Vt. — In the Championship round of the Ed Hockenbury Classic hosted by Norwich University, Francesca SIlva (Auburndale, Mass.) and 
Emma Wax (Pine Brook, N.J.) led the Trinity College women's basketball team to the crown on Saturday with a 62-39 blowout over the Cadets with 16 and 14 points, respectively. The Bantams improved to 6-1 on the season, while the host team fell to 4-3. Trinity returns home on Tuesday with a 7:30 p.m. matchup against Emmanuel College. Silva was named All-Tournament Team, while 
Reilly Campbell's (Wallingford, Conn.) earned Tournament MVP. 
Campbell's two points off a layup in the paint opened the first quarter for the Bantams, with an and one to turn the juniors bucket into a three-point play. Wax had an offensive rebound for a second-chance basket to put Trinity up, 5-2, before a step back three-point jumper by Brittany Graham knotted the game at five et all. The visitors continued to put up buckets as 
Indi DelRocco (Branford, Conn.) pulled up for a three-pointer off the pass by 
Bria Fuller (Springdale, Md.), followed by two good jumper's by Campbell as Wax closed out the quarter with a three. Trinity led in the first quarter 15-12 after the 12-12 tie with 1:44 remaining in the stanza.
Eight seconds into the second half, Wax went sky high for a beautiful three-point jumper to pad the lead by six, before a layup by Maren McGinn ate away at the deficit with two points. First-year 
Theresa Twardosky (Merrimack, N.H.) kept the offense alive with a rebound off a missed Bantam shot and capitalized for a pair off a quick layup. Silva netted her first three-pointer of the night off a turnover committed by Graham and 30 seconds later the senior darted across the hardwood for yet another three after 
Hannah Marzo (Shrewsbury, Mass.) passed the rock following her defensive rebound. The mini run was cut short by a layup from Hannah Brewster but Silva regained the momentum with her third-straight three pointer to put Trinity up, 29-20. 
Lucy Dorion (Needham, Mass.) followed suit with a three-pointer of her own with 1:17 remaining before Silva notched her fourth-consecutive three-point basket in the second quarter as the time expired on the clock initiated by a well thrown pass from Twardosky. The deffense held Norwich to only eight points in the second stanza.
Trinity had a quieter second half with the fewest points in a quarter this contest as the put up 12 thanks to Fuller, 
Samantha Slofkiss (Marlboro, N.J.), Silva, Campbell and Wax. The drama continued to explode as Wax's two-point jumper in the paint connected with the basket with two seconds remaining in the third period. Silva put up back-to-back points with Marzo having a hand in both. In the first layup by Silva, Marzo grabbed the defensive rebound as the ball found it's way to Dorion's hands with a clean assist, while Marzo's pass to Silva allowed her to swish the rock with a jumper. Madison Steven's (Burlington, Conn.) jumper 12 seconds into the fourth quarter put Trinity up by 16 followed by a fastbreak jumper by Wax in the paint off a steal by Twardosky. Trinity closed out the quarter with a 15-6 run with 13 unanswered points through the five and a half minutes.
