HARTFORD, Conn. – The Trinity College baseball team lost to Brandeis University, 15-9 on Wednesday afternoon at Murren Family Field. The Bantams fall to 1-3 while Brandeis improves to 2-2. Trinity will resume action Sunday, March 20 when the team travels to Florida for its first of six games in the Sunshine State for a 1 p.m. matchup against Johns Hopkins University.
Mike Khoury recorded four RBIs for the Judges while Luke Hall tallied three. Hall homered in the top of the first to bring in Khoury for an early 3-0 lead and Khoury blasted a home run of his own the very next inning to extended the visitors lead to five runs. Brandeis managed to jump out to a 9-0 lead after three innings as Khoury again drove in a run on an RBI single to right field. Trinity finally broke though in the bottom of the fourth when first-year
Tanner Fairchild (Sarasota, Fla.) homered with junior
Patrick Dillon (Bronx, N.Y.) on third for the Bantams first two runs of the afternoon.
Sophomore
Sean Meth (Sands Point, N.Y.) knocked in Dillon in the seventh while junior catcher
Jake Miller (Marblehead, Mass.) and first-year
Tyler Colditz (Lakewood Ranch, Fla.) added RBIs in the eighth. The bantams added three more in the final inning thanks to base knocks from Miller to drive home Mann and a two RBI double to center field from Colditz.
