AMHERST, Mass. – The Trinity College baseball team split with Amherst College in a pair of seven inning games with the Mammoths taking the first 5-0 and the Bantams winning game two, 6-3 on Saturday. Trinity is now 11-12 overall with a 4-2 spot in the conference while Amherst sits at 8-14-1 (1-5 NESCAC). The Bantams face Dean College in Franklin, Mass. this Tuesday at 3:30 p.m. 
 
Sophomore Nick Giattino pitched a no-hitter through seven innings for Amherst and struckout nine batters to improve to 3-2 on the season. Christian Fagnant went 3-for-3 with two RBIs for the Mammoths, driving in runs in the fourth and fifth. Amherst also scored in the game's first two innings while Christian Murphy went 3-for-2 with an RBI double in the fifth. 
 
Trinity got the bats going in the second game, as sophomore 
Bennett Teceno (Centerville, Mass.) cranked a home run in his first at-bat and seven players recorded hits. Sophomore 
James Stefanowicz (Stamford, Conn.) went 2-for-2 with two RBIs and senior 
Mike Guanci (Wakefield, Mass.) homered down the left field line in the fourth inning to tie the game at two runs apiece. First-year 
Tyler Colditz (Lakewood Ranch, Fla.) entered as a pinch hitter in the sixth and tallied a clutch, two-RBI single to give the Bantams a 4-2 advantage. Stefanowicz extended the Bantam lead to four runs with a single through the right side to score Colditz and first-year 
Tanner Fairchild (Sarasota, Fla.). Junior 
Cooper McGrath (South Hamilton, Mass.) pitched six innings for the visitors and improved to 5-0 on the year while senior 
Jake Mello (Kennebunk, Maine) closed out the game in the seventh.
