NEW LONDON, Conn. — Despite
Lola Craig's (Los Angeles, Calif.) 11 kills, the Trinity College volleyball team fell 0-3 to the U.S. Coast Guard Academy in a tough matchup on Thursday. The Bantams dropped to 3-2 overall, while the Bears improved to 9-1.
Trinity maintained a close game against the home team but couldn't come out on top. The team had 33 kills, while the U.S. Coast Guard Academy had 43.
A few serving errors and oppositional serving aces disrupted the visitors point intake.
Grace Sullivan led the Bantams with a pair of serving aces.
Margaret McCarthy (San Diego, Calif.) drilled six kills, while the lone senior
Molly Bernstein (Oakland, Calif.) had five and rookie
Maggie Barnes (Fayetteville, N.C.) had four.
The Bears out attacked Trinity 107-94, despite Craig's highest total attack of 27 across both teams.
The Bantams return home on Saturday for their first Northeast Small College Athletic Conference matchup of the season against Tufts at 1 p.m. in Oosting Gymnasium.
