WORCESTER, Mass. — The Trinity College volleyball team dropped a four-set match against Smith College (23-25, 25-15, 20-25, 22-25) and fell to Clark University (20-25, 20-25, 13-25) on Saturday in a trimatch hosted by the Cougars. Trinity dropped to 3-7 overall, while the Pioneers moved to 12-4 and Clark improved to 9-4.
The Bantams remain on the road as they travel to New England Small College Athletic Conference opponent Bates College for a 7 p.m. match.

Senior co-captains
Molly Bernstein (Oakland, Calif.) and
Lola Craig (Los Angeles, Calif.) notched a season-high kills with 12 each and contributed to more than half of the Bantams' 44 total kills.
After trailing by four in the first set, a three-point Trinity run brought the score within two before back-in-forth points ended in Smith's favor, 25-23. The Bantams rallied back in the next set with eight unanswered points to open the second set as
Caroline Howell (Hoston, Texas) went on a serving-run before Mia Moscicki snapped the streak with a well-placed kill. Trinity continued its' rampage to win 25-15 with the final point off a service error by Smith.
After being down 1-0 in the third set,
Julia Torre's (Cape Elizabeth, Maine) five-point serving run put Trinity up 5-1. Trinity knotted it 12-12 with a kill by
Maggie Barnes (Fayetteville, N.C.) but a kill by Abby Hunt ended the match in a 25-20 loss. Smith got the match win in the fourth set as Trinity trailed the whole set after a kil by Howell set up by
Kaila Dowd (Kennesaw, Ga.) knotted it five apiece.

Bernstein led the team with seven kills while
Eva Lekovic (San Marino, Calif.) and
Isabella Caffuzzi (Brooklyn, N.Y.) both tallied five.
After being down 13-23 in the first set, a five-point Trinity run started by a bad attack from Smith and kept alive by four serves from Barnes brought the visitors within six points. A kill by Caffuzzi and a serving ace by Torre notched the final two points for the Bantams before a kill by Sheyenne Williams ended the set in the Cougars favor.
Trinity opened the second set strong as a kill by Craig knotted the score at 3-3 followed by a four-point serving run by Molly put the team up 7-4. The Bantams held onto that lead until a kill by Sofia Scherrer tied it at 14-14 followed by 11 more Clark points for the set, 25-20.
With the score 19-7 in favor of the host team, Trinity rallied back with a Kill by Bernstein and a four-point serving run by Howell brought the team to 12-20 before Clark recorded the final five points.
