Trinity Men's Ice Hockey Doubles Up Colby

WATERVILLE, MAINE - Junior forward Kyle Tomaso (Newport, R.I.) had a goal and an assist to lead the visiting Trinity College Bantams to a 4-2 victory over the Colby College Mules in New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC) men's ice hockey action this evening.  Trinity, ranked No. 15 in the nation extends its unbeaten streak to 11 games (10-0-1) and improves to 15-5-1 overall and 12-2-1 in the NESCAC, while Colby drops to 10-9-2 overall and 8-6-1 in the conference.  The Bantams visit league foe Bowdoin tomorrow at 4 p.m.  The game was delayed 90 minutes, as Trinity's bus broke down on its way to Central Maine.

Trailing, 1-0, in the first period after an unassisted goal by Colby's James Tepper, the Bantams scored twice in the latter half of the opening stanza.  Rookie defenseman Brandon Cimino (New Rochelle, N.Y.) tied it 11:32 into the first period, converting on a Tomaso assist, and junior blue liner John Campomenosi (Wayne, N.J.) put Trinity ahead, 2-1, with a power-play tally from classmates Gerard Maretta (Brock, N.J.) and Jax Murray (Minneapolis, Minn.) with 2:16 left before the first break.

Colby knotted the game back up at 2-all with a goal by John McElhany just 41 seconds into the middle frame on the lone Mule shot-on-goal of the second period.  The score remained the same for over 11 minutes until Trinity senior captain Paul Selleck (Laguna Hills, Calif.) made good on the game-winning tally from junior Ned Blanchard (West Hartford, Conn.) with 8:10 on the clock.  Trinity struck again later in the second when Tomaso netted the final goal of the evening.  Colby's offense woke up and made Trinity rookie backstop Devon Bobak (Northwood, Ohio) stop 11 shots in the final period, while Colby's Andy Beran made four of his 25 saves after the last intermission.  Bobak finished the game with 17 saves.
