Women's Soccer Tied a Scoreless Knot at Skidmore

SARATOGA SPRINGS, N.Y. — The Trinity College women's soccer ended in a scoreless tie at Skidmore College on Sunday. The Bantams moved to 0-1-2 on the season, while Skidmore dropped to 2-0-2. Trinity returns to New England Small College Athletic Conference action when it hosts Colby College on September 16 with an 11 a.m. kick off.

Scoring chances were few and far between as both defenses held strong throughout the game. Skidmore's best opportunity came in the 35th minute when the Thoroughbreds threatened off a corner. Katheryn Dunn's original shot was blocked by a Bantam and Ella Stone collected the ball in the box and fired a shot that just caught the right post. Trinity had an open shot from inside the box off a restart with 2:00 to play in the first half, but Alyssa Keane's (Dedham, Mass.) shot sailed high.

Mariana Cournoyer (St. Paul, Minn.) nabbed five saves in the net for the Navy & Gold, while Claire Wolgast and Avery Rogers totaled five saves for the home team. Trinity out shout Skidmore 12-11, while the Bantams had a 5-2 corner advantage.
