#2 Trinity Women's Squash Peck Their Way to Victory Over Dartmouth, 9-0

HARTFORD, Conn. – #2 Trinity College Women's Squash team dominated in their match Friday afternoon against Dartmouth with a 9-0 victory at the Berry Squash Courts. The Bantams rise to 5-0 record on the season, while Dartmouth drop to 4-3 overall.

Sophomore Hannah Chukwu began the squash match registering a 3-0 victory over Dartmouth's Ellie Burke. Chukwu denied Burke any opportunity to grab a match point, closing out each set 11-3, 11-8, 11-1. Shortly after junior Noa Romero collected Trinity's second shutout of the day with a 3-0 win over Callie Worth with set scores of 11-4, 11-3,11-7. In the third match senior Nouran Youssef closed out a 3-0 (11-6,11-6,11-5) victory over Eleanor Clifford holding the Dartmouth athlete six points and under in each set.

Trinity continued to shut out the Big Green as junior Janna El Ashmawy (11-7,12-10, 11-5), sophomore Fabiola Cabello (11-8, 12-10, 11-9) and senior Madeleine Hylland (11-7, 11-7, 6-11) all collected 3-0 victories. The Bantams lead in the match 6-0 over Dartmouth.

Junior Lulu Palacios Benitez registered a 3-0 victory over Nathalie Taylore with set scores of 11-9, 11-8, and 11-7. Junior Jana Safy collected two back-to-back set points (11-3, 11-8) to begin her match against Dartmouth Maria Clara Ramirez Velasquez. Due to a slight hiccup in the third set Dartmouth got a set point on the board, Safy would find her footing and close out the match in four with a score of 11-2. To finish off the match sophomore Kara Lincou would collect a win after straight sets with scores of 11-9, 11-8, and a back-and-forth battle of 17-15.

The Bantams will be back in action on January 21st as they host Harvard at 1PM in the George A. Kellner Squash Courts.
